Capital Region BOCES is pleased to introduce Dr. Elizabeth Wood as our new Deputy District Superintendent and Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Wood, a highly regarded educational leader with a wealth of experience in educational administration and teaching, joined our administrative team in September 2023.
Dr. Wood has had a distinguished, decade’s long career in education and is known for her unwavering commitment to educational excellence and proven track record of effective leadership.
She played a pivotal role in her prior position as Deputy Superintendent at Shenendehowa Central School District. Her strong leadership skills, dedication to academic excellence, and fiscal responsibility were evident in her management of instructional budgets, expansion of programming options for students, and in her contributions to successful contract negotiations with teacher and administrative bargaining units.
Prior to her role as Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Wood also held the positions of Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment and Principal of Shatekon Elementary School in Shenendehowa.
Her extensive experience, dedication to educational innovation and commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments make her an invaluable addition to the Capital Region BOCES leadership team.
