More than 100 full and part-time Adult Practical Nursing students recently had the chance to speak with recruiters from area nursing colleges and institutions about learning in their programs. This annual event for adult nursing students is hosted by the our Adult Health Careers Center.
“The continued support of our education partners has made our annual college fair one of the highlights for our students each year, ” said Paula Negri, principal of the Adult Practical Nursing program.
The event was well received by students and colleges alike.
“The students exceeded expectations,” said Carolyn Lansing of The Belanger School.
Student Kimberly Ryan said, “The college fair was very informational and helpful!”
Many of the adult students attending our program plan to go onto college to pursue registered nursing degrees.
“I have been a certified nurse assistant for 10 years and I want to further my education and when I get this (LPN) I want to continue right on to RN. It’s time to prove myself,” said Malasia Saunders, who resides in Cohoes.
