Erica Miller, Photographer with Engagement & Development Services, has been selected as the recipient of the Capital Region BOCES 2026 Extra Mile Award. This honor recognizes staff who make a meaningful and positive impact on the BOCES community and consistently embody our guiding commitments. Award recipients are nominated by their managers in recognition of their outstanding dedication and contributions.
A member of the Engagement & Development Services division of BOCES, Erica was selected for this prestigious award for her exceptional work, collaborative approach and dedication to excellence. She is known for her flexibility, reliability and ability to deliver exceptional service that reflects the best of Capital Region BOCES.
In her role, Erica travels extensively throughout New York state, capturing photographs that school districts use in publications, on websites and across social media platforms. Her images offer families and community members an authentic glimpse into student learning and school life, helping districts build awareness and support for budget votes, capital projects and other initiatives. Her images tell powerful stories that showcase the meaningful work taking place in schools every day.
Erica’s photography reflects both artistic talent and meticulous attention to detail. Equally impressive is the dedication she brings to every assignment. She approaches her work with enthusiasm, professionalism and a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the districts and colleagues she serves. Whether climbing a structure for a unique perspective or crouching down to connect at a child’s eye level, Erica is willing to do whatever it takes to capture the perfect image. She routinely accommodates requests that require significant travel to consistently prioritizing the needs of her colleagues and the districts EDS serves, embodying the very spirit of the Extra Mile Award.
