Capital Region BOCES welcomes Dr. Kate Lapham as Supervisor of Adult Education. She brings more than two decades of experience in adult learning, workforce development and continuing education systems.
Dr. Lapham joins BOCES after serving as Director of the Uzbekistan office of Creative Associates International, a USAID-funded education program. In that role, she worked to ensure that learners facing significant challenges or discrimination had access to the opportunities and support needed for success. In addition, Dr. Lapham was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Dayton and worked as a consultant for organizations including UNICEF, the European Training Foundation and the International Rescue Committee.
In an introductory email to BOCES staff Dr. Lapham wrote, “I know how vital adult education is to transforming lives, and I’m honored to bring that passion to this program alongside all of you.”
Capital Region BOCES is pleased to welcome Dr. Lapham to the team. The expertise and global perspective she brings will help strengthen and expand opportunities for adult learners, particularly those who face barriers to educational and economic advancement.
