Nearly 100 Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) on May 28, while an additional 28 students were recognized for meeting eligibility requirements for the second year.
Those honored come from a cross section of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, from Criminal Justice to Welding and Metal Fabrication and Culinary Arts & Hospitality Technology to Early Childhood Education.
To be honored, students had to meet several criteria, including earning grade point averages (GPA) of 92 or greater at Career & Tech and an overall GPA of 85 or greater at their high schools, as well as having stellar attendance.
Joe Slichko, Principal of the Career and Technical Education Center – Albany Campus, praised the scholars.
“Not only have you embraced the challenge of a CTE education, but your excelled doing so. You have shown an unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth
,” he said.
The Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical Education Center National Technical Honor Society chapter membership now representing nearly two-dozen school districts and almost two dozen CTE programs.
