Teaching Assistant – Special Education (Continuous Recruitment)

Capital Region BOCES provides both educational programs and educational support services to area students. What you will do:

As a Teaching Assistant in one of our Special Education classrooms:

  • Your day will be busy supporting our special education teachers, students and classrooms. Every day is an exciting, fulfilling experience.
  • You will make a positive impact on the student or classroom that you are assigned to by supporting their learning, growth and personal success.
  • You will assist our students by supporting them with their daily living skills.
  • You will be an important component in the execution of a student’s IEP or a teacher’s class plan and curriculum through defined activities and processes.

What you bring to our team:

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher degree and, if not already certified, willingness to begin process of obtaining NYS Teaching Assistant certification upon hire
  • Strong desire to help our exceptional students succeed.
  • Experience in a Special Education setting is a plus.
  • Passion to help others, great communication skills and a personal drive for continuous learning.
