Administrative Process Specialist (PROGRAM COORDINATOR I-ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES)

Capital Region BOCES provides both educational programs and educational support services, including an extensive IT division (NERIC) that serves over 150 school districts locally and statewide. What you will do:

As an Administrative Process Specialist, you will be the lifeline for the business offices of school districts throughout the New York State as they navigate the purchasing process.  In your role, you can expect the following:

  • Your day will be busy supporting our clients via phone, email or WebEx Technology. You will be their go-to person for their administrative software purchase, as you track and facilitate the process from beginning to end. This includes vendor outreach, research, quotes, purchases, and payments.
  • You will have exposure to the various software programs that school districts utilize to facilitate a variety of administrative functions; everything from mass notifications to document creation and more. Even the recording of sporting events!
  • You will have the opportunity to work in a supportive team environment where your organizational skills and attention to detail are valued.
  • Your organizational skills and communication skills will be used to keep our clients informed as we track and process their district software purchases; Work that is vital to school district operations across New York State.

What you bring to our team:

  • College degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, Computer Science or Mathematics with 3 to 5 years of experience with software applications or providing (High School equivalency with 7 years’ experience will also be considered).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience tracking information with spreadsheets is a plus.
  • Experience working in or with government, educational business offices, or purchasing is ideal but not required.
  • Passion to help others, great customer service skills, and a personal drive for continuous learning and a desire to develop your skills.
