About Our Facilities

The new state-of-the-art Career & Technical Education Center – Albany Campus opened for learning in September 2022.  The three-story, 167,000-square-foot facility is home to 25 high school programs and several adult education programs that will prepare students for in-demand careers now, as well as careers that will be in high demand in the future.

Inside, students find classrooms featuring the latest technology and equipment for each career and technical program, as well as faculty and staff who are experts in their fields, oftentimes having worked several years or even decades in the industries they now teach about.

Classrooms and laboratories are set up like actual businesses, where students work with real customers and gain experience in their trade or profession utilizing the tools and technology they will also use in the workforce.

Learning Extends Beyond the Campus

Field trips and visits, job shadowing, internships and paid employment experiences give our students an edge in careers and college. The Capital Region Career & Technical Education Center

Field trips and visits, job shadowing, internships and paid employment experiences give our students an edge in careers and college. The Capital Region Career & Technical Education Center partners with local business and industry to offer such opportunities, and employers from our region help us design programs to meet the changing demands of today’s workplace.

These partnerships often lead to employment opportunities post-high school and even while the students remain in school.

They also allow students to professionally network and build relationships in the industries of their choice.
