Meet the Cooperative Virtual Learning Academy Special Education Consultant

Special Education Consultant Kaitlyn Catello

Kaitlyn Catello headshotMiss Catello serves as the special education teacher consultant at the Cooperative Virtual Learning Academy (CVLA), where she works with districts across the Capital Region to ensure students with disabilities receive the individualized support they need in a virtual setting. With a background in both general and special education, she supports IEP compliance and provides resources to teachers to help meet each student’s unique needs in our program. Her experience includes working with students who use assistive communication tools such as PECS and Proloquo2Go, as well as teaching in transitional K-2 classrooms, FSD/ISD programs and general education settings.

Miss Catello grew up in nearby Clifton Park and currently lives in Stillwater with her fiance and their cat, Ringo. She holds a B.S. in childhood education and special education from The College of Saint Rose and an M.S. in education policy and leadership from the University at Albany. Outside of work, she enjoys watching hockey, spending time with friends and family, and playing golf with her fiance. She values connection, humor and making the most of everyday moments.
