“Walk-In Wednesday” Employment Events

Interested in making a positive impact on children and gaining invaluable classroom experience?

Join us for an upcoming “Walk-In Wednesday” employment event and learn about becoming a teaching assistant on our educational team.

We offer meaningful careers and a benefit package that includes:  

  • a 10-month schedule, based on the school calendar with optional summer work available
  • a starting hourly rate of $17.51/hour
  • a co-pay based health insurance plan
  • membership in the New York State Teachers’ Retirement System 

Who should plan to attend?

Individuals who hold a New York State Teaching Assistant certification and those willing to apply for and obtain their state teaching assistant certificate within 90 days of hire. We offer support and guidance during this process.  

When and Where?

Upcoming events will be held from 1-4 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Nov. 30 
  • Dec. 14 
  • Jan. 11 
  • Feb. 8
  • March 8

These events will be held at Capital Region BOCES’ central offices, 900 Watervliet Shaker Road, Albany NY 12205. “On-the-spot” interviews will be available during these events for those interested.

We have immediate opportunities at:

  • Airline Drive Academy
  • Maywood Academy
  • Van Antwerp Middle School
  • Westmere Elementary DHH
  • Career & Technical Education – Albany Campus
