Weather-Related School Closings & Delays

Information about weather-related school closings and delays will be shared with students and their parents/guardians using our Blackboard email, text and phone notification system, through local media outlets and on the home page of this website.

Please be sure your contact information is current. To make any changes, please contact the building principal.

Weather-related closures

In the event of a closure, students should follow school closing information provided by their home school districts. A student’s home school district determines whether or not to transport students, dismiss early or close their campus.

Adult education

Adult education classes are cancelled if the Capital Region BOCES Career & Technical School is closed.

Career & technical school campuses

Students will not be required to attend classes on snow days.  Both campuses follow Capital Region BOCES.

Special education schools

Airline Drive Academy and Maywood School students will not be required to attend classes on snow days.  Both schools follow Capital Region BOCES.

Students attending programs in host districts will follow the delay/closing schedule of that school district.

In the event of inclement weather, please contact your home school district if you have questions about whether or not they will be transporting students to and from their Special Education program.

Weather-related delays

If BOCES delays opening by two hours, a.m. classes at the Albany Campus and Schoharie Campus are canceled. Afternoon classes would be held as scheduled.
