Per New York State Education Department (NYSED) CoSer guidelines, general staff development services to districts require that BOCES’ establish a base-fee structure and that a district subscribe to the base service before a district can receive aid on staff development services. The fee is determined by the number of students in the district. Any service that has a CoSer activity code of 6211 is eligible for aid if the district subscribes to this service.
Activities and benefits included in the base service are as follows:
- Professional Learning: Participating districts receive state aid on registration costs for shared workshops
- Scoring: Aid on the cost of scoring NYS 3-8 assessments and Regents exams through BOCES vendors
- Instructional Coaching: Aid on district embedded instructional coaching
- Vendor Contracts: Aid on professional development and school improvement contracts with BOCES vendors
- BOCES Consultations: Aid on contract work with BOCES employees including curriculum development and BOCES developed trainings and workshops
- Regional Standards Based Trend Reports: For NYS 3-8 Assessments and Regents Exams
- Registration fee waived for DASA workshops for district employees.
