Job Description:

The IT Help Desk Technician provides first-level technical support to end-users on hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role is responsible for resolving help desk tickets in a timely manner, installing and maintaining workstations and peripherals, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of IT systems within the organization. The IT Help Desk Technician reports directly to the Network Administrator. Key Responsibilities: – Respond to user-reported issues via ticketing system, phone, email or in person – Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network issues for desktop/laptop computers, printers, and mobile devices – Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software – Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights – Troubleshoot and maintain office equipment such as printers, scanners, and other electronic devices – Escalate more complex problems to Network Administrator – Support IT inventory tracking and hardware lifecycle management – Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, including workstation setup and takedown – Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and company protocols

IT Help Desk Technician

Skills Needed:

– Associate degree or technical certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft MTA, Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals) preferred – 1-3 years of experience in an IT support/help desk environment
– Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
– Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and basic networking concepts
– Excellent communication and customer service skills
– Excellent organizational skills, good attention to details, an ability to follow verbal and written instructions and documentation
– Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs.) + Preferred, but NOT required:
– Proficient in writing queries using SQL tools (e.g., SSMS)
– Experience with formatting and delivering reports for ERP system integration
– Experience verifying data accuracy and ensuring clarity in report outputs

Hourly Wage:

$45,000 – $55,000 (annual; salary, non-exempt)
