Take A Video Tour Of Our New School: Airline Drive Academy

Our newest school building is now complete.

Located around the corner from Capital Region BOCES’ Administrative Offices at 900 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Airline Drive Academy at 10C Airline Drive in Albany will be the new home for students and staff who previously attended Rotterdam and Fulton Academy and some district-based programs.

The brand new building is ready, new furniture has been put in place and the finishing touches are being made. With a new building comes an amazing opportunity to develop a strong culture and community for staff and students and to think outside the box to support our learners

Offering new state-of-the-art spaces where our students can learn is a top priority for Capital Region BOCES. These changes will also benefit our staff and the districts we serve. Among the site features are:

  • 22 classrooms each equipped with cubbies for students, a sink, water fountain, locking armoire and storage for materials;
  • designated spaces for a literacy room, art and sensory activities;
  • offices for partners who provide services and supports to families;
  • conference spaces for Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings;
  • a playground;
  • a full-sized kitchen for preparing student meals;
  • a large activity center that will serve as a cafeteria and space for physical education;
  • a secure vestibule at the main entrance that will provide an added layer of security before visitors will be granted access to the main office, waiting room and conference room.

We are proud and excited to bring kids into this school and begin building a culture of care and warmth, which will be critical to meeting the needs of our students.
