“I want to eventually become a nurse practitioner. This program is helping me on that journey.” — Adult Practical Nursing student Sonisha Robinson

Sonisha Robinson has always liked to help people. Now she’s turning that passion into a career in nursing.

Robinson, a Schenectady resident, is one of 100 student now enrolled in our full-time adult practical nursing program. When she and her classmates graduate next June, they will each have experienced 1,100 hours of classroom and clinical study and practice, and be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination and apply to become a New York state licensed practical nurse (LPN).

“I like how we are learning and the fact that it is very one-on-one,” said Robinson during a break from a recent pharmacology lab. “I want to eventually become a nurse practitioner. This program is helping me on that journey.”
