School districts and other organizations across the Capital Region are providing no-cost meals for students throughout the summer months.
Albany, City School District
“Grab-and-go” breakfast and lunch for the next day will be available for pick-up for students from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday* at the following schools:
- Albany High School, 700 Washington Ave. (main entrance)
- Albany School of Humanities, 108 Whitehall Road (side entrance off parking lot)
- Arbor Hill Elementary School, 1 Arbor Drive (main entrance)
- Giffen Memorial Elementary School, 274 South Pearl St. (main entrance)

* On Thursdays, families will receive meals for both Thursday and Friday.

Bethlehem Central School District
The district will provide summer meals from June 25 through Sept. 3. The service will be once-a-week ONLY but will include five days’ worth of breakfast and lunch meals for each child. Meals can be pick-up weekly on Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
All families can participate in this program. Meals are free to all students whether a student receives free meals during the normal school year or not. All children ages 18 and under are able to get meals and all meals will meet USDA summer food service program nutrition requirements. Cohoes City School District
The district’s summer meal program will run July 7 through August 14, Monday through Friday. The “grab and go” meals (breakfast and lunch) will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Cohoes High School cafeteria entrance (rear of building), 1 Tiger Circle, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The program is available to all Cohoes children age 0-18, regardless of household income.
Duanesburg Central School District

Green Island Union Free School
The village of Green Island collaborates with Watervliet to provide a summer meal program.
Guilderland Central School District
The district is offering free breakfast and lunch this summer to students in need. Meals will be available for delivery or pickup from July 2 through Sept. 3.
Meal pick-up will take place on Mondays and Thursdays at the High School’s West Gym between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon. If delivery is needed, it can be coordinated. Each pick-up will include a three-day supply of breakfast and lunch.

The district’s meal distribution program ended for the school year on June 17. Families in need of meals for their children during the summer months should use the following resources:

Niskayuna Central School District
The Niskayuna district has shared information with families about several summer meal program sites that are offering grab & go breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday. These sites include a program at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish and those operated by Schenectady Inner City Ministries/ SiCM. Details can be accessed from the school district website.
North Colonie Central School District
The district is offering free breakfast and lunch this summer to students in need. Meals will be available for delivery or pickup from July 1 – August 31, 2020. Visit the school district website to enroll in this program.

Scotia-Glenville Central School District
The breakfast/lunch distribution program from the high school put into place in March is ending on Monday, June 29; the last day of deliveries will be Tuesday, June 30.
SICM, which had operated a summer meal program at Collins Park for the past several years, will not be holding it this year.
However, area churches will be providing food for families July 10 through August 28. This program is available to any family that needs food and has a child that receives free or reduced lunch and breakfast. The boxes can be picked up at Lincoln Elementary School (40 Albion Street, Scotia, phone 518-347-3600 extension 31101) each Friday from 8:30 a..m. – 1 p.m. Deliveries are available to families that are unable to pick them up.

South Colonie Central School District
Beginning June 29, the South Colonie School District will begin providing free summer meals for students from 9 – 11 a.m. on Mondays (1 breakfast and lunch meal provided), Tuesdays (2 breakfast and lunch meals provided) and Thursdays (2 breakfast and lunch meals provided). Meals can be picked up at the following locations:

Families are asked to open their trunks when they arrive so that staff can safely serve the meals. Any family needing assistance with meal delivery should email: Annette Chamberlin at chamberlaina@scolonie.org.

Through June 30, breakfast and lunches will be distributed from 8-10 a.m. at the following locations:

Beginning July 1, the district’s summer program will offer free meals for anyone 18 years and younger (parents may pick up meals for their children). Breakfast and lunch “To-Go” bags will be provided Monday–Friday with pick-up from 8-10 a.m. at the sites listed below through September 4.
