Graphic Designer (GRAPHIC ARTIST)

Capital Region BOCES Engagement & Development Services provide customized communications and public relations support to public school districts, BOCES and professional associations across New York. What you will do:

Our graphic designers work closely with our team of communications specialists to develop creative solutions that align with each client’s brand, communications strategy and goals.

You’ll do this by:

  • Understanding the needs of your clients and colleagues, in order to deliver impactful design solutions that support their communications goals, increase audience understanding and enhance messaging.
  • Advising on — and applying — best practices in graphic design, branding development, print production and web design.
  • Using your creativity, talent and technical skill to develop professional, creative design solutions, from concept through execution.
  • Collaborating with your fellow designers and taking advantage of professional development opportunities to continue to be inspired and grow.

As a graphic designer serving school districts, BOCES and professional associations, you will be supported by a team of several graphic designers, as well as by a team of web developers, photographers, videographers, social media strategists and communications specialists. You will routinely collaborate with these colleagues on a rich variety of projects, from logo and branding development, to print collateral, to web design. You’ll not only have the opportunity to work on projects for clients with well-established branding, but to help clients develop their visual strategy from the ground up. What you bring to our team:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in graphic design
  • A strong portfolio of previous design work
  • Excellent technical skills, including proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat)
  • Solid project management skills, including the ability to problem-solve, apply feedback and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • A personal drive for continuous learning
  • A passion for graphic design
