Career & Technical Education - Albany Campus

Basic Function:

To instruct high school students in the proper practices, procedures and skills associated with the Visual Arts, Textile and Design industry.  To provide entry level skills allowing students to enter the job market or to continue their education at the post-secondary level.  To be involved in developing partnership programs with local colleges and universities.


A.      Bachelor’s Degree with Certification in Visual Arts, or

B.      Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with two (2) years of Textile & Design experience with eligibility of a Transitional A Certificate, or

C.     Five (5) years of Textile and Design experience with eligibility of a Transitional A Certificate.

D.     The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to provide sound instruction, ability to work in a team environment, work collaboratively with staff and administration. 

E.      Must possess good written and verbal skills.


1.      Provide instruction to CTE students in all areas of fashion design and machining.

2.      Secure a job in a field related to their studies that pays a living wage or enable students to continue their education.

3.      To strive to instill in all students safe work habits, the importance of lifelong learning and a work ethic that fosters reliability, competence and satisfaction with one’s own work.

Start Date:

April 1, 2019 (anticipated start date)

Starting Salary:

Dependent upon step of current contract prorated to the amount of service rendered.

The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
