Residential Electrical

A teacher and a student work together with wiring in a Capital Region BOCES adult electrical trades classroom.

Capital Region BOCES is offering a new course for adult students interested in careers in the electrical trades, or perhaps just interested in more knowledge on how electricity works in their own homes.

The 150-hour Residential Electrical course will be taught by experienced electricians, and will provide adults with fundamental skills and training in:

  • residential electrical safety and theory
  • residential construction codes
  • low-voltage wiring
  • switches and controls
  • currents

Upon successful completion of this course, students will earn the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-hour Safety Course Certification.
