The Capital Region BOCES Communications Service was the first service of its kind in New York State, and today it's the largest, serving more than 50 school districts and four BOCES around the state. Our staff of 65 professionals work as a team to provide school districts and BOCES with a level of communications expertise they could never secure on their own. Our goal is to help districts be the first and best source of information about what is happening in districts, from classrooms to board rooms.

During the 2013-14 school year the BOCES Communications Service once again received significant recognition from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for its efforts to communicate about a variety of complex issues. Overall, the Capital Region BOCES Communications Service received 43 awards — representing 5 percent of the print and electronic media awards issued nationally and more than 5 percent of the golden achievement awards from the 2013-14 school year.  Complete list of awards (PDF)
