CTE Program: Electrical Trades

"At Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School (CTE),  they teach you what you need to know to succeed."

So said 2017 electrical trades program graduate Brennan Coffey, who credits CTE with putting a charge in his future plans of working for National Grid or the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).

Coffey, who will attend Hudson Valley Community College in the fall for electrical trades, said CTE has been a "huge" boost for him personally and professionally.

"If you plan to pursue a career in the field, like I do, CTE gives you a huge jump-start on higher education and your career. Most of my whole first year of HVCC is going to be repeat and  Coffey
reaffirming what I learned at CTE," said Coffey.

Coffey said CTE has taught him a wide variety of electrical skills, as well as time management
and such professional skills as how to interview for a job.

"It's been a great experience. (Mr. Puglisi) is a great teacher and while the program is a lot of hard work, it's also fun," said Coffey.
