A Forklift Operator Training Course providing adult students with the classroom and hands-on training necessary to earn an Operator Permit Card as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be offered later this month.

The six-hour course will be offered March 28 and 29, from 3:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., at the Mohonasenasen Center for Advanced Technology located at the Mohonasenasen Central School District campus.

The cost of the course is $175.

Forklifts are widely used in business, industry, and agriculture. This is an easily attainable job skill and a valuable addition to resumes.

The Operator Permit Card lets potential employers know that you have achieved a basic level of knowledge and competency with regard to forklift operation. It should be noted however, that all employers are required to re-train new employees based on their own particular equipment and operating environment.
