Testing her culinary skills against her peers and professional chefs was the highlight of 2016 graduate Carly Yezzo's two years in the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School's (CTE) culinary program.
"Competing in the local, regional and state level SkillsUSA competitions was definitely a highlight of my time at CTE," said Yezzo in the days preceding her June graduation.
The Scotia-Glenville graduate is planning a future as a chef and a restaurant owner and will attend SUNY Delhi in the fall to build on the skills she has already learned at CTE and earn a bachelor's degree.
"Everything that I learned at CTE will help in my future. .... I have already learned the basic knowledge and skills for the culinary arts and that gives me an advantage as I go to college," said Yezzo.
