SkillsUSA officers inducted at Albany Campus

 

Organization promotes personal and professional growth of students

Students ranging from future fashion designers to future electricians, contractors and nurses will lead the Capital Region BOCES Career and Presidents Sam Groezinger of Guilderland and Thorne Sperry of South Colonie light a candle as part of the initiaion.  Technical School Albany campus SkillsUSA chapter for the 2016-17 school year.

During a Wednesday ceremony that drew friends, relatives and school officials, the Albany SkillsUSA chapter inducted its slate of morning and afternoon sessions officers for the school year.

Albany campus SkillsUSA officers, their program, teacher and home school districts are as follows:

Morning officers:

  • President — Samuel Groezinger, Building Trades I, Guilderland
  • Vice President — Thea Rogers, Cosmetology II, Bethlehem
  • Treasurer — Andre Bachan, Electrical Trades I, Schenectady
  • Secretary — Alyssa Gaige, Retail Service, BKW
  • Parliamentarian — Devon Cooper, Welding I, Schenectady
  • Community Service Liaison — Ranny O'Donnell, Floral Design, adult student
  • Historian — Brianna Colucci, Global Fashion Studies, Duanesburg

SkillsUSA is a national organization for career and technical education students that promotes personal and professional growth and offers them the opportunity to compete at the local, regional, state and national levels.
