The approximately 40 programs CTE offers students can be divided among nine different career clusters. A career cluster is a group of jobs and industries that are related by skills or products.
Students, parents, and educators can use career clusters to help focus education plans toward obtaining the necessary knowledge, competencies and training for success in a particular career pathway.
The federal government identifies 16 career
clusters; at Capital Region BOCES, we give students multiple
opportunities to be a part of nine of those clusters. CTE programs
as divided among the clusters are as follows:
Agriculture and Natural Resources
Architecture and Construction
Government and Public Administration
New Visions: Health Careers — Ellis Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital
Retail & Office Services
Transportation, Distribution and Logistics
