March 30 and 31.

Joe Lacoppola of Niskayuna and Nick Joseph of Shenendehowa are representing CTE in the competition at the Javits Center in New York City.

The annual competition is a chance for students to show their knowledge of automotive computer diagnostics, engines, technology and more.

In preparation for the competition, the CTE students worked with representatives from DePaula Chevrolet, as well as CTE faculty to get a feel for specific issues they may have to solve during the competition.

The national competition is billed as "a test of skill, a measure of knowledge and a race against the clock all rolled into one."

Lacoppola is a senior in the AYES automotive technician program, while Joseph is a senior in the automotive trades technology program.
