Two-dozen educators from China toured Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School (CTE) on Tuesday during the final leg of a two-week trip to the United States.
The teachers and administrators from Beijing were guests of the University at Albany and spent an hour at the Albany CTE campus examining the educational opportunities afforded by CTE. They also heard about how BOCES functions and what Tech Valley High School offers area high school students.
Finally, they went on a tour of the CTE campus, visiting the culinary, nursing and cosmetology classrooms.
"I wish I could teach here," one of the Chinese educators stated to Dr. Lynne Wells, assistant district superintendent for curriculum and instruction, as they toured the culinary classrooms.
Capital Region BOCES and Tech Valley High School have sister school pacts with schools in China in which the educational organizations exchange teaching ideas and tactics and host exchange students.
