The Capital Region is exploding with new growth and development, with contractors and carpenters building a new tomorrow for the region.
As a result, opportunities abound for trained construction and renovation professionals. Students in the Building Trades program at the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School (CTE) learn through standardized craft training programs developed by the Home Builders Institute (HBI) and the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
Students are prepared for careers or college study and/or careers as a contractor, home builder, lumber yard worker, roofer/siding installer and or carpenter.

How Capital Region BOCES CTE can get you there
Campus and community projects provide valuable real-life experience. Students who pass written exams and performance tests gain a portable skill set and may earn HBI and NCCER certifications, which are recognized by contractors and employers nationwide. Upon completion, they may enter the workforce or continue their education at the college level.
