A new Capital Region BOCES adult education course on the refrigeration and cooling will prepare students for a cool career in refrigeration and air conditioning.
Students completing the eight-week course are eligible to earn U.S. Environmental Protective Agency Refrigerant Certification, permitting them to legally work on refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
Classes will meet Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays each week starting Jan. 3. Classes will run from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.,at the Albany CTE campus, located at 1015 Watervliet-Shaker Road.
Course topics include basic refrigeration, brazing, evacuation, recovery, system charging and electrical troubleshooting.
The cost of the program is $1,100.
